Finding care can be a long journey for many patients with Long COVID. In studies of their experiences seeking and utilizing care for LC, patients report difficulty in accessing care, lack of health care provider knowledge about Long COVID, disbelief and misunderstanding by providers, challenges in communicating symptoms, frustration with normal test results, and perceptions that there are no treatment options. Some studies report positive patient experiences when providers listen to and validate their symptoms and are willing to try new treatment approaches.

Some patients also fall prey to predatory practices. They travel across the country to see a doctor who promises a miracle cure for Long COVID - at a steep price. After paying thousands of dollars, they find themselves no better than they started.

As of now, there is no cure for Long COVID - but research shows that multimodal care alleviates many of the symptoms worst symptoms of Long COVID and improve quality of life for those affected.

The aim of this website is to allow patients to find Long COVID clinics staffed by reliable, experienced faculty at academic medical centers. Many centers opened Long COVID clinics early in the pandemic. In the years since then, these clinics have functioned as miniature laboratories, working with patients to try out different treatments, and figuring out what works and for whom.

The Long COVID Provider Network started as a group chat, where academic Long COVID providers compared notes and shared information. Out of this has grown a consensus multimodal approach to treating Long COVID. It involves disease education and behavioral strategies for patients, targeted physical and cognitive rehabilitation, symptom-directed medication, documentation of disability and support for workplace accommodations when needed.

Our approach has developed with experience combined with the results of research studies- and will continue to evolve as new information emerges.

If you are seeking care for Long COVID, please see the list of clinics on this web site. They are listed by state and location. Each entry describes the services offered, whether the site is accepting new patients, the number to call to make an appointment, and the approximate wait time for a new patient visit. The list will expand as we make contact with other clinics, so please feel free to check back.
